Nancy O'Dell's career in broadcasting began as a journalist and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. O'Dell later became an anchor for morning news on WCBD TV and also as an investigative reporter. Her articles from Charleston concerning how Charleston police dealt with DUI cases with leniency caused an investigation by State Law Enforcement Division. The investigation resulted a stricter instruction for the state's authorities. Ms. O'Dell was recognized by her colleagues at the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year Awards to all media South Carolina. Following her stint at Charleston, O'Dell worked as a co-anchor for NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV and also as an investigative journalist. After that, she was hired by Access Hollywood to work as an anchor on weekends and weekdays.
