Nancy O'Dell's career in broadcasting began as a journalist and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. O'Dell later became an anchor for morning news on WCBD TV and also as an investigative reporter. Her articles from Charleston concerning how Charleston police dealt with DUI cases with leniency caused an investigation by State Law Enforcement Division. The investigation resulted a stricter instruction for the state's authorities.
